Well, it's been another week here in St. George, Utah and everything is going well. I have been here for about two weeks now and I'm still loving it. The weather here is still pretty hot, but not as humid as it would be in Georgia. It's beautiful though.
This week has been kinda quiet so this blog post may not be as long as the first because there really is not that much to report. As far as academics go, I ended up dropping one of my classes this past week. I had mentioned in the last blog that I was going to do that because I didn't want to be taking too much of a load, and there is no reason for me to rush out of here. I want to be able to enjoy my time here as much as I can. So, I ended up dropping the class that was all the way across campus. It was a computer course that I will probably end up taking next semester again, so we'll see. So, now I'm taking just four classes and my load feels a lot lighter. Also, I had my first quiz in one of my classes on Friday and I think that I did pretty well, but I will find out on Wednesday and see for sure. Homework seems to be not that big of a problem so far, but I'm sure that once things start to be in groove, it will get pretty busy, but we'll see how that goes. That's all the news on the academic front.
As far as church goes, today was my second Sunday to go and I ended up going by myself, which was fine. I ended up asking my friend Lauren (the RA) to come with me, but she was having her parents coming in to town for the weekend so she wasn't able to come, but it was still good. I met the nicest lady at church today. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she was so nice. I told her about myself. I had mentioned that I was born in Lithuania and she told me that she had a nephew who served his mission there, and still speaks Lithuanian. We had a nice conversation. Anyway, she ended up helping me out when I went out to my car, and helped me get in the car. It was really nice meeting her. Also, I ended up signing up for an Institute class today. I was able to do it online and I will be taking a Preparing for Eternal Marriage class on Wednesday nights, so I'm excited to start that this week. I think that it will be awesome.
Well, that seems to be it for now. Labor Day is tomorrow and there are no classes, but I will be doing homework. If I have any time left over, I will go exploring and see what else there is to do here. I hope that all of you have a great holiday tomorrow and I will catch you all again next Sunday! Until then!
